Ask a mother what she struggles with every day and you will mostly likely hear “Getting my child to eat heathy and nutritious food”. A healthy diet is crucial in the overall development of a child. We want to give them the best start from the beginning, so they can reach his maximum potential.
What’s the best way to fuel growth and immunity for kids? A nutrient dense diet comprising of fruits, vegetables, proteins, carbs, vitamins and minerals is essential. Given the growing amount of pesticides found in our fresh produce, inactive lifestyle and diet changes, the nutritional requirements of kids are not being met. As a mother, I was rather shocked to find that 75 % of Indian suffer from anaemia caused by iron deficiency. Further 67% percent are deficient in Vitamin A. While these results were shocking, I was adamant to find a way to meet these requirements.
My life as a parent is no different from any other – I, too, am concerned about well-being of my child. Whether it is about eating or being exposed to those changing phases of weather, a child’s immunity is something every parent worries about. To be honest, we have all played in the mud and sun and rain, played with animals and insects, gotten hurt multiple times while playing but our parents were not so hard on us. Our generation of parents are a lot more particular about children falling sick than our parents ever were.
My child is not very fond of eating vegetables or drinking milk, two major sources of nutrients for development to its full potential. I had to look for nutritional supplements to fill up the dietary gap. The major problem, however, is that either the supplements are not holistic – i.e., they usually provide 1 – 2 types of nutrients and one must rely on multiple supplements. Secondly, if it doesn’t taste good, it’s a struggle to get kids to actually consume it. – Simply put, it has been pretty difficult to get my child to take supplements in the right manner.
As part of the #YESMOM campaign, I was introduced to ActivKids Immuno Boosters. I dug a little deep, to find what all the talk was about.
What exactly is ActivKids Immuno Boosters?
A newly launched, unique immunity boosting supplement for kids, it was created after extensive research on the nutritional deficiencies present in Indian kids. Each tasty choco bite is loaded with Vit A, B9, C and Iron, all of which are the building blocks for immunity. It is by Cipla Health which features as a premier healthcare brand in research articles carried out by Economic Times and Business World.
Something on their website really made me pick up a pack and it was this snippet of information – “ActivKids Immuno Boosters helps build immunity in kids. It contains adequate nutrients and minerals that have a proven role in immunity. Kids who are fussy eaters or eat junk foods may lack balanced nutrition resulting in poor immunity as reflected by frequent infections and instances of falling sick. 1 choco-bite of ActivKids Immuno Boosters helps kids receive upto 100% RDA of key Immunity nutrients.”
Since nutritional supplements for children have always been on my radar, this quickly came to my notice for two key reasons –
- The incredible number of nutritional elements it promised to take care off
- The taste – I mean who makes supplements in such a delicious chocolate format!
Call me paranoid, but I never introduce a supplement without the prior approval of my paediatrician. Armed with a box of the ActivKids Immuno Boosters, I made a visit to my paediatrician. Most docs today do prescribe a daily multivitamin supplement for kids. I have on more than one occasion switched between the best know industry names for kids’ multi-vits. However, hearing of infections and virals despite this is common. So, when a brand introduces a product, that tackles the issue of immunity at its core, I was intrigued. Post my paediatrician’s approval, my child enjoys a little treat of this choco bite every day.
In relatable terms, this is how Immuno Booster really supplements the nutritional gap, each choco-bite can replace:
- 3 bananas for the Vitamin B12 that it provides
- 2 oranges for the Vitamin C it provides
- Approximately half a kilo spinach equivalents Iron it provides
- 7 eggs for the Vitamin D3 that it provides
As part of his daily intake, I am now stress free since he is meeting his recommended daily allowance. To see your child happy, energetic and competitive, is a joy every mother cherished. I hope you try the ActivKids Immuno Boosters and take that step ahead towards aiding the overall development of your child. The product is available here. When I read the reviews of other moms who have used the product, I promptly added a box to my cart.
